<1> Meta hit with new Privacy Lawsuit
Meta Platforms was hit Thursday with a second lawsuit over allegations that it collects taxpayers' information from online filing services.
This new complaint, like one filed earlier this month, alleges that Meta's tracking code, the Meta Pixel, was present on tax-filing sites and transmitted filers' personal information to the social platform. The complaint includes claims that Meta is violating federal and state wiretap laws, as well as other California state laws.
<2> Bloomberg denies interest in WSJ or Washington Post
Bloomberg LP has denied reports that it is interested in acquiring the Wall Street Journal or Washington Post. On Sunday, Bloomberg spokesperson Ty Trippet tweeted, “There have been no conversations with anyone or either organization about an acquisition. The company has no interest in acquiring either.”
both Axios and Reuters reported last week that sources within Bloomberg LP say there is interest in an acquisition. Combined with the Bloomberg Terminal, a Dow Jones purchase would create “an unparalleled business news behemoth,” Axios writes.
<3> Kochava urges judge in Massachusetts to throw out privacy Class-Action
